whakatane club practise In preparation for the Inter-club meeting at Te Puke on Saturday,- a meeting was held at the Domain on Monday when a large crowd witnessed some very interesting racing. All events were keenly contested, the outstanding runner of the evening being W. Kendall who completed the 3 miles event in 18mins 39 3-ssecs. Members of the club are again becoming keen on their athletics and every night of the week they are to be found on the local Domain putting in some keen training. Results of Monday's events are as under:— 100 Junior: Brown 1, Britten 2, Raymond 3. Time 10 4-ssecs. 440 yds Senior: D. Morpeth 1, D. Wilson 2, W. Rendall 3. Time 55 2-*ssecs. 880 yds Junior: Brown 1, Raymond 2. Time 2inin 22 4-ssecs. Hop.. Step and Jump: D. Wilson 38ft sin 1, T. Brown 38ft 4in 2, A. Britten 36ft lOin 3. Three Mile, Senior: W.. Rendall 1, D. Wilson 2. Time 18mins 39 3-5 sees. To-night the usual mid-week meet ing will be held and this will be the final try-out before Saturday's big daj r at Te Puke.
