Marriage Boom. Rotorua experienced something of a Christmas marriage boom,, the number of marriage licenses issued being not only greater than in the two preceding months, but over twice that of December, 1938. In- * October and November last year there Avere 14 and 21 marriages respectively, but last month the number jumped to 24. Compared with. 10 in the previous December, it indicates something of a boom. Five of the marriages last month were performed in the registry office. Births showed no such variation* the number of 16 for the period being exactly that of the corresponding month in 1938. There were more deaths last December than in October and November or in December of the previous year. Last montlt there were seven, compared witb five in November, one in October,, and three in the period corresponding for 1938. Madam! Reduce with Btankora.
