(By Zetland) NED CUTTLE'S PROSPECTS Reports from Taranaki are to the effect that Ned Cuttle is waiting for a damp track to enable him to get on the winning list again. His track work is decidedly good just now. A ROTORUA TEAM Recent additions to W. G. Stephens team at Rotorua are Teacony by Gascony from the Tea Tray- - Bouvardia mare and Desert by Tideracc from Marion's Birth-"* day. A RECOGNITION The Wellington, Racing Club has decided to present the trainer of the winner of the Wellington Centennial Cup, and also the rider, with miniature gold cups, replicas of the Centennial Cup that goes to the owner. NATIONAL THOROUGHBRED SALES The annual National thoroughbred sales at Trentham are to lie held on January 17th and 19th in tine Wellington racing week. The list of yearlings is a very full one, and if the Australian buyers take part in the bidding as expected, some high prices will be realised. A TRIBUTE TO SPORT When in 1914 Lord Kitchener was asked what steps should be taken with regard to the control of sport, lie replied "Keep sport going. Take the minds of the people off war as much as you can, as sport is one of the best means of keeping up the spirits of the people."
