THE WELLINGTON RALLY
EIGHTY FROM BAY OF PLENTY
According to reports received from the troops in the Bay of Plenty district about 80 scouts will be able to go to the district camp to be held in Wellington. The camp will be diverted into sections of 20 boys under the supervision of a scoutmaster and an assistant. The cubs will be under the Te Puke cubmistress. All boys will be insured against accident. The District Scoutmaster has received £1 16s frcin Headquarters for each £2 paid by the scouts who were to go to the Jamboree. The deduction of 4s was made to cover the expenses incurred in preparation of the Jamboree and was unavoidable under the circumstances. The rebate has been placed in trust in the Bank of New Zealand- and will be applied to the camp fee for those boys who had previously paid their £2 and arc now going to the District. Camp. The Kiwi patrol led in the monthly patrol competition with Pinpoints The Bellbirds Avere second Avith 122 points AvhiJe the Pukeko trailed Avith 118. Th.- link of friendship trophy is now in the possession of the Kiwis under P. L. Rivett. Further instruction Avas giA r en the second class group in compass and cooking tests, it is hoped that all scouts Avill be able to complete the second tests at camp. Next Monday being Christmas Day there Avill be no meeting of the scout troop. The scoutmaster takes this opportunity of extending to the Scouts of the Whakatane Troop, the parents committee and all those aalio have assisted in the Avork, hearty thanks and best Avishes throughout the Christmas season and the Ncaa- Yeai
