Whakatane v. Central. Although Whakatane, with a fine first innings score of 215, appeared to be in a match winning position, they failed to dislodge Central before time was called, the game resulting in a draw. Apart from Coutts and Dereeonri, ,T. Moore (32) was the only other batsman in the Wha-

katane team to reach double figures. There were no outstanding individual totals in the Central score, but most of the batsmen deserve credit for stubborn innings. Details were:— VVhakatane.
