MUSHROOMS IN DECEMBER

Sir, —I was astounded to see a boy and girl creeping round in grass at the Domain this morning about six o'clock. I asked if they were finding a ball but to my surprise it was mushroom hunting and just as % looked round I saw tAvo at my feet and it. was mushrooms alright. The children said ihey had mushroom breakfast on the pVevious morning. I would like to know if it is usual to find them at this time of year and if they are O.K. to eat. Yours etc., V. W. KINGDON.
