CONSERVE STOCKS

POWER BOARDS WARNED

A warning to electric power boards to conserve stocks, given by the controller of Electricity, Mr F. T-. M. Kissel, was reported to the Auckland Electric Power Board by the general manager,, Mr R. 11. Bartley. Mr Bartley said thati Mr Kissel had given a brief address at a recent regional conference of the engineers of power boards in the Auckland province. There were, he said, sufficient poles and cable in the country for eight months' normal demand. Transformer stocks were not in such a happy position. It was Mr Kissel's opinion, said Mr Bartley, that the greatest care should be exercised in extension work Avhich was not essential, so that some stocks could be held in reserve.
