SODIUM CHLORATE
SPRAYING DANGER The need for care being taken by those engaged in spraying ragwort was mentioned by the acting-super-intendent of the Waikato Hospital Dr. R. S. A. Graham, Avho stated that in the past fortnight three men had been admitted to hospital suffering from sodium chlorate burns. "There are always a number of * these cases at this time of the year" said Dr. Graham. "People seem to forget that sodium chlorate is highly inflammable when it dries on their clothes. It would be a good idea if all engaged in the eradication of ragwort wore overalls which could be taken off as soon as the work is finished and before the wearer comes near any fire."
