PUBLIC NOTICES BOROUGH OF WHAKATANE proposed electricity supply LOAN, 1939. Notice is hereby given that the Whakatane Borough Council proposes to raise a Special Loan under the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926. The purposes for Avliicli the loan is required is the supplying and distributing of electrical energy for the benefit of the Electricity Supply area comprising the Borough of Wha katane and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things ■which the Council is empowered to do by the Municipal Corporations Act 1933 and its Amendments and the Public Works Act 1928 and its Amendments and in particular and without limiting in any way any of the aforesaid powers, to provide, erect and construct additions and extensions to the present system of electricity distribution and reticulation, to purchase plant, land, casements and general equipment. The sum which it is proposed to borrow is £7500. The proposed security for the payment of interest and the repaj'ment of principal is a special rate of one and four-fifth pence (1 4/sd) in the £ on the unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough of Whakatane. It is proposed that the term for which the loan is borrowed shall be 15 years, and that the said loan shall be repaid by annual instalments of principal of not less than £.">OO. No amount payable as interest or repayable as principal in respect of the said loan and no part of she cost of raising the same shall be paid out of loan money. Dated November 15, 1939. B. S.
