Maketu Memorial.
Work upon the construction of the centennial parade from the store at Maketu to the historic landing place is proceeding and the preliminary work of laying the stone foundations for the' retaining wall is com pleted. At a meeting of the centennial committee at Maketu on Sunday it was decided to apply for the Government subsidy of £300 on the £900 which the committee has in hand.
