THE WHAKATANE CLUB
The Whakatahe Golf Club's event for next . Satiiirday is k one club match, fop which members, arc especially requested.to enter. Although this event is in the novelty class it! always creates great interest and adds good value to I lie game. Players are allowed to select "any club they like but are permitted to carry only' that one club 'for the round. The result is on ordinary handicap. The draw (in three-ball formation) is as follows:—

Armstrong Liti:l©johh, Norriss, Barry, I. Withy R. Withy C. Wilson. Last Saturday's Stableford Bogey handicap was won by L. Luxton 34. In the final of the intermediate club championship Montgomery preA'ailed o\ T er A. Clark 54. Clark was one up at the 18th but 'from then on Montgomery produced sup?riativc golf. Mr H. E. Cucksey has donated a very handsome shield for annual com petition amongst Whalcatane Club "Veterans'' {over 45 years of age). The president, Mr L. W. Luxton v will'also give a trophy for a similar competition this year for the "juveniles'' (under 45). The match Avil 1 lie 36 holes medal handicap and will take place on Saturday nftemoon, September 14th and Sunday morning September 15.
