SCHEME TO MEET EMERGENCE
An emergency precautions scheme to be applied in the preparation oil local schemes for the control of es-
scntial services in an emergency, such as an earthquake, was read at Tuesday's meeting of the Whakatane County Council. The rcheme, divided into sections dealing with a subject like supply, transport, law and order etc., provided for a control-* ler to be appointed under each section with a committee to assist him.
It was agreed that in the event of
an emergency such an organisation would prove valuable, and it was decided to get in, touch with the borough council raid discuss the matter.:
