POSITION OF FARMERS SAFEGUARDING THEIR INTERESTS "Farmers who undertake military scrvice should not be allowed to su'ffer loss through the neglect of their farms," said one of the speakers at the monthly meeting of the Auckland Executive of the Farmers' Union, held last week. A general discussion took place as to ways and moans of helping such men, and it was decided to refer the matter to branches of the Union for suggest ions as to What niight be done by local organisation. It is to lie referred also to the newly-ap-pointed Council of Primary Production, with an ofi'er of the services of the Union is arranging for supervision and care of the farms.
