AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS AREA IN TE PUKE The in'tial steps for an attack on the To Puke swamp have been made with the taking of aerial photo, graphs. These phofogmphs have been composed into one la~g e plate, measuring 10 feet bv 10 feet, and will be exhibited in onc of the shop windows in Te Puke. They will be on view for approx'matcly three weeki The photographs have been inspected by Government officials, who have expressed their appreciation of the wealth of dctai] and also the value of the information, which will assist considerably in the survey and inspcct : on which will be made c-i the swamp area. Drainage engineers will wo"k in conjunction with the executive of three local drainage boards, who will combine in their efforts in the bringing in of this large area. It will be appreciated that a tremendous a_ mount of planning work will have to be done before actual draining work •can be started. The approximate area is 10 000 acres, and will be an invaluable addition to the already fertile acres of the district.
