RELIEVING MAGISTRATE
MR J. H. LUXFORD WELCOMED^ A welcome was extended to Mr J. H. Luxford S.M. by Mr R. F. Smith, president of the Whakatane Law Society, at the conclusion of the sitting at Whakatane on Wednesday. ! Mr Smith said that in the past the happiest relations had prevailed between Bench and bar, and he was sure' this would continue. Mr Luxford thanked Mr Smith. This might be his only visit to Wha„ katane, however. It was nearly 15 since he had last beeiv here v and he had been struck with the progress of the town. He would go away with happy recollections of his contact with the legal profession in Whakatane.
