TE HERO IN AUSTRALIA

On the Randwick course lately the Waikato owned Te Hero has been accomplishing what would generally been termed winning gallops, and for his big events ahead he has been coupled in betting circles with horses of note. At the CampbelltoWn meeting, however, he adopted his New Zealand 'tactics of refusing to join the field at the barrier despatch and both his backers and admirers were consequently more than disappointed. If he had behaved better at the barrier lie was to have been ridden in the Epsom Handicap by Australia's leading jockey, F. Shean, but the latter is now not accepting the mount. It is quite on the cards, however, that when perhaps least expected ithe Heroic representative will jump out quickly from the barrier and beat the opposition all the way.
