POSITION AT MATATA
An opinioii, was received by the Whakatane County Council at its meeting on Monday lrom the County solicitor to the elfect that the couneii had no power to make a by-law prohibiting stock being rested in course ol' droving at any particulni place on a township public road oi i main highway unless such placc was within three miles from a borough or town district.
