INSTITUTE AFFAIRS

taneattja branch meets The monthly meeting of the Taneatua Women's Institute w r as hjld on August 10th. Mrs Carter presided over a large attendance of members. The institute song was sung and the aspiration read v after which the secretary, Mrs Mead, read the minutes of the previous meeting A demonstration on wool rug makingwas given by Mrs Luhrs. An address on how to arrange courts for shows was given by Mrs Withy assisted by Mrs Le Lievre. The roll call "My Pet Fad" was well answered. Competitions were: Butter Sponge and Violets and Leaves only arranged for effect, both won by Mrs Sisam, Mrs Gooch being second in both classes.. Three new members were enrolled and given n welcome. The singing of the National Anthem brought a pleasant afternoon to a close.
