Walton, S.M., in convicting, Robert Edward Jamieson and ordering him to come up for sentence within 12 months on a charge of failure to comply with the terms of his release on probation. . Constblc r. J. Cuminings said Jamieson was before the court at its last sitting. The case had been adjourned for one month on condition thai Jamieson report weekly. He had reported to constables on the j street, and on the last occasion had been sent to the police station to report to the probation ofT'eer (Constable Cummings). He could find money for other tilings but did not seem .able to find the money to make restitution as ordered or to paj* mini; tenance. Jamieson said Fie was working at thn mill on shift and had been only able to get into Whakatane fom* iimes last month.
