BOUGHT BY SAVAGE AND S6NS THOROUGHBRED OF FINE TYPE A cable message from England states that Mr C. E. Robertson, stud stock manager for Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., has completed the purchase for Messrs F. J. Savage and Sons of "Tuhoe" Waimana, of the celebrated highly-bred racehorse by Manna, winner of the Derby and T\a;o Thousand guineas, and £23,534 in stakes, sire to date in England of winners of over £115,000 and leading sire of Italy in 193G; from White Bud, winner ol the Lincolnshire and other good races Revelation has won four good races, in England and is stated to be a very fine type of thoroughbred. He will be used for stud purposes. Revelation is a chestnut, foaled in 1932 so "there are many years of useful life ahead of him. 'The deal was completed on Thursday last when cabled advice was received, and he may already be on the water on his way to New Zealand. The price paid is not stated, but lie was not a cheap horse. Mr Savage, who is convinced that the Bay of Plenty is very suitable for thoroughbred breeding, says that he will bring very useful blood into New Zealand racing, and a glance at his pedigree confirms this. He comes from the No. 1 family which headed English winners last year, and on the sire's side he is related to Beaupere and Ringmaster, and other winners, but on the dam's branch of the family brings a new strain to the Do. turf. The pedigree of the maternal side of the horse is studded with Derby and classic -winners. White Bud is by White Eagle and Mine Own. White Bud, Avon four races, including the Loncolnshirc. The fourth dam was a half-sister to winner of the Oaks and the St Leger, and the fifth dam a.sister of Lord Lyon, winner of the Two Thousand Guineas, the Derby and the St Leger, and £2G,325 in and also of Achievement, winner of the Or>e Thousand Guineas, the St Leger, and £22,142 in stakes. She "was also a half-sister of Parafin, ancestress of Lndis. Cicero, Neil Gow, Saucy Sue and Booldaw.
