WEDDING BELLS

SMITH—FLEMIN G A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the Waimana Church last week, when Moira Joyce, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Fleming. Waimana Avas married to Robert •1 Alexander, only son of Mr and Mrs A. Smith of Hawera, The Rev J. Stewart, Taneatua, offi. ciated at the ceremony, and Miss J. McConnell presided at the organ. Pink and white camellias and ferns were artistically arranged in thij church for decorations. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a beautiful frock of ivory sheer crepe end lace % cut on slimming lines, the} long sleeves were puffed on the should ers and fitted closely to taper to points over the wrist. Medallions of lace were inset on the bodice, and lace inset on the back of the frock, formed a beautiful train. A magnificently hand embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a bandeau of orango blossoms, the veil falling over the bride's face, and elbow length gloves and ivory satin shoes were worn and a sheaf of lilli'es and jonquils and fern completed the ensemble . The bride was attended by Mrs Percy Looney (sister of the bride) as Matron of Honour. She wore a charm ing frock of salmon pink satin, embossed sheer f the bodice being shirred to the waist, and the skirt being full, with a row of shirring near the hem line, a matching veil which fell over the facc and elbow length gloves and a posy of carnations and fdrn completed the toilette.

The bridesmaid was Miss Marv Smith (sister of the bridegroom) who wore a dainty' frock of pale green embossed sheer, and made on the sa,me lines as the Matron of Honour's and a matching tulle veil and gloves I to the elbows, and gold shoes, finished the attractive outfit. A dainty posy of anemones, carnations and fern was carried. The little flower girl, Margaret Fleming (cousin of the bride) was attired in a pretty pale blue frock, the bodice being shirred, and the skirt was frilled to the and a dainty bandeau of matching flowers was Avorn in her hair. The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. Burgess of Wanganui, as best man and Mr A. Barcla, Hawera as groomsman. A reception was held afterwards in the Waimana Hall/where some 200 guests were entertained. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs Fleming, the latter wearing a model frock of navy wool crepe de chene relic v. Ed with gold and a fur and hat to match, and she carried a posy of daphne and violets. Mrs Smith, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart prune crepe de chene frock, with hat and accessories to tone, and carried a posy of violet* and salvia*. The stage and tables were beauts fully decorated with bowls and vases of pink and white camellias and the three tiered white wedding cake took prkle of plr.ee. The best man read a real sheaf of telegrams, all conveying good wishes to the happy couple. The usual toasts were given with musical | honours. When Mr and Mrs Smith left later ion their wedding tour, the bride I wore a smart nigger brown costume, | with hat and accessories fto tone. The guests included: Mr and Mrs P. G.
