PLANE AT OHOPE
SICK MAN BROUGHT FROM AUCKLAND STANDS THE JOURNEY WELL Standing the journey well, though he is 1 in a weak state, after an operation in Auckland, a Whakatane man, Mr Edward Law, Douglas Street, was brought down, from Auckland on Tuesday in a Moth flown by Mr S. •T. Black more, the plane landing on Ohopc Beach. The trip down took one and three-quarter hours. Mr Law had been in the Mater Hospital for three weeks, and before that he was an inmate of the Whakatane Hospital for some time. It was at first proposed to fly Mr Law to Tauranga, and complete the journey by road, but since a saving of two hours could be effected it was decided to come all the way by air, permission having been obtained to land on OhopeMr Law Junr., Rotorua, went up to Auckland with Mr Blackmore and aecomapnied his father back to Whakatane. Mr Law is at present rather weak_ but he suffered no ill effects from the flight. Had it been necessary to bring h'm down by road the long eight_hour trip would undoubtedly have thrown a heavy strain on him-
