CAR TURNS OVER
MOTHER and daughter in HOSPITAL , , -S :: '■ ' ' ' '' * LOCAL PEOPJLE INVOLVED A girl passenger Miss C. Broadmore received a broken collarbone and her mother, Mrs E. Broadmore Thornton Road abrasions and shock which liecessitated their admission to th. J . Whakatane Hospital, when a car in -which they were travelling rolled over on the main road near Ohincj panea on Sunday morning. Also in the car were the driver M" McKcnzie, sharemilker, Awakeri, Mr A. E. Broadmore, Miss T. Wils'on. and Mr S. but these people were fortunate to escape with nothing more than a shaking. The party was travelling in the direction of Tauranga when the acci1. dent occurred. The cause was a tyre W blowing out and the driver lost control on the difficult surface, the car turning over three times before coming to rest. It was extensively damaged and attracted a good deal of attention when it was brought in to Armstrong and 'Oo's garage, Whakatane. So crushed v w as the bodywork that at first glance from the roadway it had the appearance of one of the small cars of the same range. There was general structural and mechanical damage as well. The injured women are in a satisfactory condition.
