EFFECT OF STRIKE
FERTILISER STOCKS LOW Although the seasonal demand for fertilisers has slackened off during the last few weeks } many farmers have been relying 011 having their orders fulfilled at present, and the strike at Auckland may consequently cause undue delay in delivery. Because of difficulty in, obtaining-de-livery in the autumn some farmers delayed topdressing until July, and it appears as if the strike will cause a further embarrassing delay. It, is reported that stocks ar e so low that there may not be sufficient to meet a sudden "demand.
