GARDENING CIRCLE (Beacon Correspondent) The monthly, meeting of the gardening circle of the Waimana.Nukuhon Institute was held at Mrs E. P. Woolfield's residence last Wednesday after noon. Mrs Wool field acted as president. An apology was received from Mrs .Terrain, who was unable to be present on account of illness. The gardening circle decided lo decorate the hall for the institute biith, dav in August. The growing of violets was well Mrs Stevenson gave a hum orous reading on the Buying of Flower Seeds. The day's competitions were as follows: Vase of "Violets, \Tis King 1, Mrs Eagle 2. Mrs J. Mitchell o. G entries. Best Flower. Mrs "Woolfield (Camclia) 1, Mrs King (Res Hot Poker) 2, Mrs Eagle (Jonquil) 3. 8 entries. An alphabetical flower com petition was won by Mrs King. A dainty tea was served by the hos. tesses,, Mrs Mannion and Mrs J. Addison which closed a pleasant meeting.
