OTAKIKI DISPERSAL SALE Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co Ltd report that there Ava,s a large attendance of local dairymen at the clearing sale held on account of Mr W. T. King on Friday. Competition was keen throughout and a very satisfactory sale resulted. The herd, which comprisexl mostly Shorthorn cows, came forward in good order and sold at an average ot just under £8 per the top price being £11. There was steady bidding on the full range of farm implements and sundries, while the pigs a:nd. horses .sold under keen competition at firm late rates. Good young Shorthorn cows, early calvers, made £9 to £11, early calving Jersey and .Jersey cross cows £10 to £10 -ss, other Shorthorn cows £8 10s to £9 10s, later Shorthorn cows £6 to £7 10s, aged and more backward cows £-3 to £5 15s. Six rising 2 year Short, horn heifers made £7 10s per head, six rising j T ear! jng Shorthorn heifers j £3 per head. A 9 year draught mare broken to all harness £'24, a 4 year medium draught gelding '£25, and one filly foal £7. Maiden sows made i's fo £5 ss, TJt r'kshire sows to farrow "4 to vl J7s 6d. The Lcov milking plant was disposed of fit £'5.
