PEDIvSTHIAN CROSSING The pedestrian crossing on the junction of Domain Road pnd Com. merce Street was discussed by the borough council ,at it.s meeting on Monday night. It was stated that it was difficult to see people on the crossMig, and suggestions were made) fov the installation of a light and the provision of reflectors to mark out the crossing. The matter was event u., ally referred to the Works Committee. CEMETERY UPKEEP The disgraceful .state of the cemetery was referred to by Cr F. PrL deaux at Monday's borough council meeting. The grass was knee.deep on some plots and he thought a few Mounds should be spent. Cr W. Sullivan said there was some money in the cemetery account which they hail decided to use. He agreed that th.j cemetery needed attention, but thought that they should be careful now thrv interfered with some graves?. The inspector, Mr M. Penny, when -•sited for h's opinion, said that he could only attend to the upkeep of graves if relatives paid in advance. He had been, asked to do the work on past but in some cases had never got paid. The council agreed that he should see lie was paid beforehand.
