INSPECTOR'S REPORT
Reporting on his activities in the northern end of the East Coast Rabbit Board the Inspector T\lr il. A. Burgess states as under: — "During the past month inspection has been made of the following areas. Sandhills Thornton-Whakatane and found them clean, also sandhills Ohiwa. —no traces found. A rabbit was reported seen near Poroporo and was caught, no more visible signs 1 have shifted the officer from Xe Teko to give the country a thorough search. Nothing was seen or heard of in the Te Teko block. Waiohau was worked during the past month and two rabbits were caught on Baird's and Orr\s property. There were no further traces. In my last report I mentioned signs on Galatea, estate, and since then seven rabbits have been caught four near the 'homestead' and three near the boundary of Tehouhi and Galatea estate. Indications were found on Xopuliki and two rabbits were caught. Two rabbits were also caught near the Rangitaiki river on the Mum para estate. On looking over the Te Whaiti country Pounana and up the Whirinaki river to Okari, and Aro. haki no signs were found. Down.river as far as Onepu no signs were visible. Went to Tarawera to start poisoning operations at Teharoto and Tara_ \vera_ engaging two men to start as soon as supplies arrive. Rabbits killed during April are as follows: Whakatane 1, Waiohau 2, Kopuriki 2, Galatea Estate 7, Muru_ para Estate 2. Total 14. Ugly fatness goes quickly with healthful Bonkora. No dieting.
