I O I PHOSPHATE STOCK'S BUILT UP Is it fear of war that is causing fertiliser companies throughout New Zealand to lay in unprcccdente.dly large stocks of phosphate? On tho weighty evidence available in New Plymouth the answer to this question would seem to be unequivocally "yes" says the Taranaki IfQpdd. A special reserve supply of phos.. pha te sufficient to last six months is being built up as provision lor wartime emergency at the Smart Roadworks -of the New Zealnnd Farmer.-" 1 Fertiliser Company. Mr J. L. IMaucler, works manager, released this information to-day. The six months' reserve stock was being stored out. side, said Mr Mander.. Though il would be exposed to rain and weather it would not deteriorate as phos phate was insoluble until processed.
Stocks under cover were also being*built up he said. The recentlycompleted additional rock store gave additional storage space for 6000' tons of raw materia], and no trouble was being experienced in storing the large quantities of prosphate imported.
