SUCCESSFUL DINNER
PAPER MILLS STAFF ENTERTAINS
Three of the key engineers responsible for the erection of the Whaka. tane Paper Mills plant were tendered a dinner at the Whakatane Hotel o'i Saturday night. Those entertained by the department heads were Messrs J. K. Ley ? supervising engineer for Asea Ltd., who was in charge of the installation of the electrical equipment, Mr E. iPrastadt, mill super, intendent,, and Mr J. Gorbett, engineer in charge of erection of plant. When the guests had done justice 'o the elaborate and delicious menu glasses were charged with champagne Mr Ley gave the toast of Th * P aper Mills. May they he •aid. He had every confidence in their future. Mr Standrin gave the toast of The Press, the most useful of publicity mediums. Mr D. Vincent replied to this toast. The final toast was that of Mr Ley who was accorded musical honours, and the guests adjourned to the lounge where, in a part ; cularly liappv atmosphere coffee and liqeurs were served.
