'The Rat|ng Act 1925," 'The Local Bodies Lo*ns Act 1926' and all amend mentg toj ? such Acts and all other powers enabling it in that behalf the Whakatane County Council intends, on Tuesday 27th June 1939 at a meet - ing to be held at the County Council Chambers, The Strand, Whakatane at 11 a.m., to make and levy for L hc year beginning Ist April 1939 and ending 31st March 1940, on the basis of the rateable unimproved value as appearing in the Valuation Rolls f>>« the time being in force, of all rateable property in the County of W hakatane, the following County Rates: General: Threepence three farthings (3%d) in the pound (over' whole county); Separate: Hospital, one and one (1 1-Sd) in the pound; ftm£at£*wster Supply: In re. 1 spect of -fordiriary supply upon, all lands ancf>buildings in Matata to which watfer is supplied, a water rate of fourpence (4d) in the pound on th e unimproved rateable value, with a minimufn annual charge 10s. Nonconsumer's Water Rates: Upon all lands and buildings in Matata to which water can be but is not supplied situated within 100 yards from any part of the water works, a rate of one.half of the water rate afore- • mentioned. Matata Buildings other than Dwelling Houses: A rate equal to one half of the water rate in respect of ordinary domestic water sup ply. Sanitary charge: Levy a sanitary charge of £2-lis per pan on all house properties and premises to which the Council's sanitary service is givenalso to collect Special recurring Rates, viz.: —Conversion No. 2 £76.. 295 Loan, one and one-eighth pence. (1 in the pound; No. 13 Kutarero Whni'-f £2171 10s 8d Loan, threeeighths pence (3-8(1) in the pound; No. 25 Manawahe Hall £500 Loan, threp farthing-; (-jd) in the pound and No. 27 Taneatua Footpaths Loan, one penny farthing (I%d) in the po'ind; el'-o to make and levy on behalf of the Whakatane Harbour Board for rear commencing the first day cf Oetofjer 1938 and ending the thirtieth day of September 1939, such Whakatane Harbour Board's Special Rate of three farthings (3_4d) in the pound on such Board's £65, 300 Conversion Loan, such interest rate to he on the basis of the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in that portion or portions of the Whakatane Harbour Board's rating area which is within the jurisdiction. of the Whakatane County Council; all County Council and Har_ bour Board rates and charges aforementioned to be due and payable in each case in one sum on the fifth day of September 1939 at the County Council Chambers.
