Defendant, through the interpreter, said he had had influenza, and had been advised to have a brandy and por/; wine to ease his stomach pains. Sonic years ago a constable had told him that, as he was a minister of religion and had been well behaved he could obtain liquor. He thought this terminated the prohibition order The magistrate convicted Tiakawai and ordered him to pay oosts. Other cases involving the breach of prohibition orders were those, of Charli Wi Mului, lined £3 and costs £1 Is; Tamehana Wliakahu, fined M and costs £1 ss; Jack lined £1 and costs £1 ss: Peter Uatukn, lined £1 and costs £1 ss; Mati.ika Meihami, lined £1 and costs 15s, and £1 and costs £1.
