WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL Notice is hereby given that the Whakatane Borough Council pursuant to its powers under the provisions of Sections 77, 79, 80 to 00, 0(5 09 and 100 of the Municipal Corpora, tions Act 1033, the Rating Act 192.), Section 52 of the liospJtal and Charitable Institutions Act 1020, the Local Bodies Loans Aet 1026 and all other powers enabling it in that liehalf, intends at a meeting of the Council to be held on Tuesday May 23, 1030, at the Council Chambers, Commerce Street, Whakatane, to make and levy the following rates and fees viz: A consolidated rate of l/4d in the £ in lieu of the follow-) ing—General raite of G.sd in the £, Hospital and Charitable Aid rate of 1.75 din the £1, Street lighting rate of .5(1 in the £, special rates to provide interest and sinking fund etc on loans raised (a) Conversion loan of £72,070, 4.25 din £, (b) Conversion loan of £25,520, 3d in £. Each of the foregoing rates to be for the period from April 1, 1030 to MaUch 31, 1040 and to be levied on all the rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane as appearing in the Valuation Roll at present in force, upon the basis of the unimproved value. Also for the same period to levy a uniform sanitation fee of £1 l:)s per pan in respect of the removal of night soil. Also the Council intends at the meeting abovementioned, pr.r suant to the provisions of Sections 84 and 85 of 'the Harbour's Act to make and levy for and on behail of the Whakatane Harbour Board a special rate of %d in the £ to piovide interest and sinking fund of the Whakaltane Harbour Board Conversion, Loan of £65, I-SOOJ such, rate to be for the period from October 1, 1038 to September 30, 1930, and 'to be levied on all the rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane, which area forms a part of the Whakatane Harbour Board's district, as appearing in the Valuation RoH of the Borough of Whakatane, at present in force, on the basis of the unimproved value. Further, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7(5 of the Rating Act 1925, that a. penalty of 10 per cent be added to all raites remaining unpaid after six months and fourteen days from the date of demand. Each and every of the above rates and fees to be paj r able in one instalment on May 2(5, 1930, to the Borough Rate Collector at (the Council's office, Commerce Street, Whakatane. The Valuation Roll and estimates of Receipts and Payments for the current financial year are deposited at the office of the Council and may be inspected during office hours and without fee until May 23, 1039, D.
