I . THIEVES AT AWAKERI SUM OF MONEY STOLEN A thief or thieves broke into the ! Awakcri store last Sunday evening > and stole from the counter till the I sum of fi4 in silver. Entry was gain. - ed by the simple procedure of sniash- ; ing a pane of glass in a window situated at the rear of tlje store and reaching the snlpJosk to ifce Jom. The till which was rifled was as far as can be ascertained the o.ily ► object interfered with, the stoe.V* , alter a cursory inspection being intact. The owner Mr J. Graham who was away on the Sunday retired to bed early and states that he heard nothing of the forced entry which could have been coincided with the noise of a passing car in order to muffle the noise. The matter is in the hands of the police.
