WHAKATANE CLUB ON SATURDAY RESULT OF THE RAIN The welcome rain has made it possible to open the Whakatane Golf Club's season and the commencing date has been fixed for Saturday, April 29 when mixed foursomes will be played. Visitors from other clubs are cordial'y invited. The Whakatane membership shows an increase this season, and it is believed that it w T ill exceed 200. A progressive scheme, Avhich will' be completed by next summer, will be the reticulation of the greens and fairways by a water supply. A satisfactory source has been located near the clubhouse and its use will make the club independent of droughts.
