e° — , MR FREDERICK FRANCIS h FOSTER c e — u Another of the fast.diminishing ' band of pioneer Bay of Plenty settlors dropped out of the ranks on Thursday" when Mr Frederick Fran, cis Foster died at the age of 95 t years at the home of his son Mr v J. I H. Foster, Taneatua. Mr (Foster at j one time farmed at Tauranga and fTe Puke, but had been retired for . many years prior to his death. Born at York, England, -in 1&44 3 Mr Foster came to New Zealand » with his wife about 1885. He was t then aged 41 years.. He took lip land t at Tauranga and later settled at Te t Puke < where he farmed for many > years. During his residence at Te ; Puke he took an active part l?n| church and school affairs. After disposing of his interests in Te Puke he cam c to his son at Taneatua. Mr Foster was a keen gardener and enjoyed very good health right up to the last few days.. He had , eight children, the familj T comprisr ing three daughters and five sons-, i and he is survived by one son and three daughters, one of whom, Miss • May lives at Taneatua. Two i of the sons were killed in the Great War. Mrs iFoster died some 20 years ► ago. The funeral took place in the Wha- • katane cemetery oil Saturday.
