OVER 4,000,000 AT END OF 1948 The biennial report of the Boy Scouts International Bureau, shows that the total membership of Scout associations throughout the world at the end of 1948 was 4 306,010, compared with 4,061 624 in 1946. There are 42 Scout associations registered with the bureau as being members of the international confer ence. Since the last report India, Pakistan and Burma have been registered separately. Recognition has been withdrawn from the Czechoslovakian association and the Hungarian association have withdrawn their membership.
