VARIED NEEDS OF BUYERS
BRITISH RTKF.T. INDUSTRY PROBLEMS
WORKERS COMPARE UNITED STATES METHODS
London, April 21
Sixteen British steel workers, have completed a month's study of American production methods, gave their impressions in Washington today on what they have seen. They thought that much could be learned in the United Kingdom about the planning of American factories, but that it would not be possible to adopt all the American technique of standardisation and specialisation. They pointed out that American foundries are dealing with a large standardised market, while British foundries were having to deal with JV ip much more varied needs of buyers overseas. a Washington correspondent says they have picked ur> some ideas on the welfare side. The settlement of Labour disputes, they felt, were belter organised at home than in the United States.
