HUGE RAT CAUSES FIRE

DAMAGE TO CAMBRIDGE SUB-STATION EXPLOSION BLOWS OUT OIL SUMPS A huge rat, which crossed the 11,000-volt limes on the switch-board at the Cambridge Power Board’:: Sub-Station at Leamington on t recent night, came near to causing a serious interruption to the district supply of electricity. When the rat crossed the. wires, the shortcircuit caused an explosion which blew out the oil sumps. About ten gallons of oil came out and caught alight. Two main wires outside the building were also down. The cause of the trouble, a rat of the “grandfather” species was badly burnt.
