The number of telegrams being despatched is ■ steadily increasing and the bulk of the work in the telegraphic department is still to be done. Two retired officers have returned to assist during the rush period and three extra boys are engaged on deliveries. By 11 o’clock on a recent morning, almost 200 telegrams had been despatched over the line to Auckland.
