Ambulances For Te Puke And Katikati District
Grant To Be Made By
Board
41345 In Hand For Former Service
Advice that the Te Puke branch of the St. John Ambulance Association had written *to the Minister of Health asking for finality on the proposal that an ambulance should be stationed at Te Puke was conveyed to the monthly meeting of the Tauranga Hospital Board. The department advised that the sum of £1345 8s 3d had been collected, but no reference was made to the arrangements under which the service was to be maintained. However, in view of the funds that had been raised to purchase the ambulance it was suggested by the department that the board should assist, if necessary, with the service by making a grant at the rate of £SO a year, as was done in the case of the Katikati ambulance. The board decided to advise the committee that it was prepared to pay £SO a year to help maintain the ambulance, \Vhen it was purchased.
