MONTHLY MEETING AT AONGATETE
Mrs Lepper presided over a well attended meeting of Ihe Aongatete Women’s Institute held last week. The motto was given by Mrs G. Walker. The roll call, “The best film I have seen,” showed that “Gone With the Wind” was the general favourite. An interesting account of the Katikati Institute’s birthday party was given by Mrs Andrews. Miss Nettlingham reported on the Dominion conference.
Competition results were as follows: Bloom, Mrs Lepper and Mrs Palmer equal 1, Mrs S. Wright 2; jar of marmalade, Mrs L. Hume and Miss N. Morton equal 1, Mrs Casey and Mrs T. Morton equal 2. The hostesses were Mesdames Warrender and Hume.

The August meeting of the Omnkoroa Women’s Institute was held at the beach cottage, Mrs Ewart presiding. A debate was held among members, the subject being “That New Zealanders are paying too much attention to sport.” The- debate had been very well prepared by each side. The resignation of Mrs Shea, who has moved to Pacroa, was received with regret. The competitions resulted; Semes. Mrs Ewart 1. Mrs -Tack 2. Mrs J- B. Lauder 3; knitted cardigan, Mrs Little 1. Mrs Allan 2. Mrs Pammcnt 3- best bloom. Mrs G. B. Crapn 1, Mrs J. B. Lauder 2, Mrs Allan 3.
