PARCELS SENT TO BRITAIN
HAMILTON COMMITTEE'S
ACTIVITIES
"QUEEN MOTHER" CAMPAIGN PROPOSED
(P.A.) Hamilton, July 2, The Hamilton' Aid for Britain campaign committee has sent 4472 parcels to individual recipients in Great Britain. The parcels included 1,000 tins of fat sent to Cardiff. The organiser of the campaign, Mr A. G. Lowe, said today that a number of donors had not recorded their gifts. It was estimated that the total number sent would be 5,000. Cash contributions had totalled £771.
Ways and means of speeding up the campaign in order to fulfil the undertaking that 20,000 parcels would be sent from Hamilton were discussed. It was decided that a "queen mother" campaign should be undertaken with ten candidates, one of whom would represent each women's organisation in the town.
