NEW EXPEDITION TO SEEK ATLANTIS

AMEETCAS AND EUROPE ONCE LINKED LEADER IS BRITISH DIPLOMAT Twenty-five people, headed by Mr Egerton Sykes, former UnderSecretary at the British Embassy in Warsaw, have resolved to go in search of a lest continent—the fabulous kind of Atlantis beneath the Atlantic Ocean. "In 18 months we hope to pay Atlantis a visit," said Mr Sykes. "Although its existence is denied, and even where believed its position is disputed, I am satisfied from my researches that it lies along the Dolphin Ridge, two miles down in the Atlantic. Its highest point is the Azores. "We hope to fit out an expedition to take radar soundings and, finally, to lower radar cameras into the dep;hs to see what we can pick up. "I am certain there are building:; which will show a definite link with thee buildings of ancient Egypt and the Azccc civilisation of America. "We may see only a mound of mud, but the shapes will help us to develop our theories further. "Already we have fellow investigators all over the world. We are anxious to get in touch with an American airman who, on a wartime ferry flight, spotted what he thought were buildings under the sea around the spot where v/e believe Atlantis is hidden. "Our investigation is scientific. We shall collect all writings bearing on the subject—l myself had 700 books, which I lost to the Nazis in Poland. "There is no doubt that America and Europe were at one time a single continent linked by Atlantis. "Common features in the ancient myths and ruins of both continents tend to show they have something in commen with a central source — Atlantis. "Civilisation is far, far older than many people think."
