PRISONER’S ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY

ELUDED ARREST AT TE AROHA

The prisoner, Claude Cyril McGregor, aged 27, who escaped from the north-bound express at Frankton early yesterday morning while under the escort of warders, was being taken from the- Waikune prison camp, National Park, to Auckland.

McGregor is sft 11 Jin in height, and is of fresh conplexion, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a mole on the right cheek and has a small moustache. He was wearing a blue suit. McGregor was seen in Te Aroha yesterday afternoon but he eluded arrest.
