TAURANGA LABOUR CANDIDATE
DECISION EXPECTED AT EARLY DATE
RECOMMENDATIONS TO MR NASH A decision that the question of who will stand in the New Zealand Labour Party interests in the Tauranga electorate at the 1949 elections should be decided at the next meeting of the Tauranga Labour Representation Committee, was reached at the monthly meeting of the committee. A recommendation to the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, that all married persons should be allowed an earned income of £4OO a year free of tax, was also made by the committee.
It was decided that no State house allocation committee should be set up without the Labour Representation Committee being given the opportunity of submitting names for such a committee.
