TAURANGA FOURTEENTH ON LIST ONLY 2.52 INCHES OF RAIN RECORDED ■ Tauranga gained only fourteenth place in New Zealand for hours of bright sunshine during March, when Waterlea, Blenheim topped the list with 263.2 hours, according to figures just, published in the Government Gazette. Tauranga experienced 211.6 hours of sunshine. Wcodbourne (256.5 hours) and Nelson (251.3 hours) came second and third respectively. The highest rainfall recorded in New Zealand for last month was at Milford Sound, where 27.54 inches fell on 18 days. In Tauranga, 2.52 inches fell in 12 days. The ‘maximum fall in the town was on March 13, when 0.67 inches were recorded.
