REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENCY
London, April 28
The Republican Party of the United States has held its primary elections in Pennsylvania in connection with the choice of a presidential candidate. Mr Harold E. Stassen •headed the popularity contest, as it is called, by a slight margin over Mr Thomas Dewey. Mr Stassen has already won pninnr' cl options in Nebraska and another State.
