PRACTICE GAMES IN TAURANGA
INTEREST IN DISTRICT QUICKENS
The ten men's teams, which wilt be competing in the Tauranga Indoor Basketball Association's 1943 competitions, were built up to playing strength at the practice this week. However, several teams still require extra players,' and intending players will be assured of a place. The final practice games will be staged next Tuesday evening, and competitions will commence the following Tuesday. This week, N. Guinness took the new players for coaching, and appeared to be doing a very good job. There is some very promising material this year. The more-experienced players were put through their paces, and their followed a period of short games. Some of the players should take the practice games more seriously, as they do materially improve play. A practice, on the same lines, was held in the women's section. The women players show keenness, and have one or two vacancies for new players. Next Tuesday evening a practice will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and practice games will follow for two hours. The draw is as follows: 8 p.m., Wanderers v. Old Boys; 8.20, Toilers v. True Blues; 8.40, Rovers v. Easy Aces; 9 p.m. Ellis Motors v. Rovers; 9.20, Cadets v. Greshams.
