PROGRESS OF SCHEMES Visit Of Special Committee Consideration By Tauranga Borough Council An intimation that a committee of the Town-Planning Board proposed to visit Tauranga on April 22, remaining in the district until midday on April 23 for the purpose of discussing progress on town-plan-ning schemes with the appropriate authority, has been received by the Tauranga Borough Council. In a letter considered at a special meeting of the council, the secretary of the Town-Planning Board (Mr J. C. Redward) advised that the committee would be in Rotorua on April 2CL and April 21 for the purpose of examining the question of provisional approval of the Rotorua borough town-planning scheme.

The same committee had been appointed by the Town-Planning Board to examine schemes for the Tauranga ' borough, the Tauranga county (areas around Tauranga) and the Mount Maunganui borough when these v/ere submitted for approval. The Town Planner (Mr R. T. Goulding) in a letter to the council, said he understood that the committee would not be able to report to the hom'd uWd earned rwd provisionally adopted the townplanning scheme. After a statement by Cr L. D. Lees that there were questions in the scheme which should be explained, the council agreed to adjourn the meeting until 7.30 this evening for the purpose of discussing the proposal, and that Mr Gouldmg should be asked to auenu.
